This Privacy Policy explains how Scribo (“the app”, “we”) handles information
when you use it. Please read it carefully. By using Scribo you agree to this policy.
In short: Your audio files and the text we create from them are
processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to us. We do not collect
or store your recordings or transcripts. The app does use Google AdMob (ads) and Google Play Billing
(purchases), which process limited technical data as described below.
1. Audio and transcripts (processed on your device)
The audio files you select and the transcripts Scribo generates are processed locally on your device using an on-device AI model.
Your audio and transcripts are never sent to our servers, the cloud, or any third party. We have no access to them.
Transcripts you export (Word, PDF, TXT) are saved only where you choose (e.g. your Downloads folder or an app you share to).
We do not sell, share, or transmit your content.
2. Information we collect ourselves
The developer does not collect, store, or have access to any personal data, account
information, audio, or transcripts. Scribo has no login and no user accounts.
3. Third-party services
To keep the app free and to process purchases, Scribo uses the following Google services, which
may collect limited technical data under their own privacy policies:
Google AdMob (advertising): may collect device information and a resettable
advertising identifier to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted.

In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, we show a consent request (Google UMP) before personalized ads.
Google Play Billing (in-app purchases & subscriptions): purchases are handled
by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment card details. See

We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs beyond the advertising service above.
4. Permissions the app requests
Audio / media & file access — only to read the audio files you choose to transcribe.
Notifications — to show transcription progress and optional reminders.
Foreground service, wake lock, ignore battery optimizations — so a conversion you start keeps running (and finishes) even if you leave the app or the screen turns off.
Internet / network state — used only to download the one-time AI model and to load ads. Transcription itself works fully offline.
5. Children
Scribo is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly
collect data from children.
6. Data security & retention
Because your recordings and transcripts stay on your device, their security depends on your device.
You can delete transcripts, exported files, and the downloaded AI model at any time from within the app
or your device storage. We retain no copies.
7. Your choices
Reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings (Ads / Advertising ID).
Manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play.
Uninstalling the app removes all app data from your device.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated”
date above and, where appropriate, announced in the app or store listing.
